Getting out responses and news articles about every breach!

2 What was your greatest achievement in 2017?
Growing above the market rate in any year is a success. We’re delighted to have achieved that, as it means we’re helping to drive the businesses of our vendors and resellers. Winning a number of industry awards was nice recognition of that!

3 What were the key growth areas for you in 2017?
We have a very strong cyber-security business and that’s obviously a very big focus for many organisations right now. At one end, the threats are more complex and advanced and, at the other, the simplest phishing or social engineering attacks still pose a threat.

4 Any lessons learned in 2017?
The whole industry needs to adapt to the increased velocity and frequency of breaches – and be agile and supportive and avoid the temptation to sell a quick fx. That’s not what our customers need.

5 What is your main focus for 2018?
Continuing our growth and building on the vendors we’ve added to our portfolio. Riverbed and Netscout are great to work with and have very exciting technology to offer to our partners. Without an effective, connected network, few organisations are effective.

6 Reasons to be optimistic about 2018?
For the industry, there are great opportunities as organisations invest in digital transformation and migration to cloud and hybrid environments, and it’s always exciting to be working with cutting edge technology from emerging vendors.

7 Reasons to be fearful about 2018?
The continuing economic uncertainty is certainly going to impact the industry, but it’s also an opportunity to demonstrate how technology adds value rather than cost to a business. The skills shortage and lack of government investment will have a greater long-term impact.
